The default Login ID and password is:

Login ID:  admin

Password:  library

Please note that the login id and password both are case sensitive.

In this guide we are discussing each screen and each feature of this program individually.

  • 1. The Login Screen:-

On this screen you have to enter your login id and password (you need the admin account password to login) and press OK button to login. The program will promptly login you in or gives an error message if you entered login id and password incorrectly (please note that the login id and password both are case sensitive). Pressing the exit button will promptly close the program and pressing the about button will display an about program dialog.

  • 2. The Main Screen:-

Pressing the “Manage books” button will take you to manage books screen. Pressing the “Manage students” button will take you to manage students/users screen.

  • 2.1 Change Password:

Pressing the Change Password button will take you to Change Password screen. Enter your current password and then enter your new password twice, then on entering the program will tell you that your password is successfully changed or gives you an error message is you have not entered your current password correctly.

  • 2.2 Logout:

Pressing the logout button will log you out of program. Always logout of program when you step out as this will protect you from unwanted use by others.

  • 2.3 Exit:

Pressing the exit button will log you out first and then closes the program.

  • 3. The Manage books screen:-

This screen shows all the controls related to books. On this screen you see a list view control; on startup this control lists all the available books. This control will change its contents according to your needs i.e. when you search a book or press a button.

  • 3.1 Searching a book:

On this screen you see a search box group; this group contains all the relevant buttons and options required for searching. Search method is very simple just select a search by method and then select a search type method i.e. exact match or contain and then enter a string and press the button “start search”. The list view control now displays all the books that meet your search criteria. Now if you want to see all the books again just press “view all books” button.

  • 3.2 Adding a book:

Press this button if you want to add a book in your library. Just fill all the information on next displayed screen and click “add”, the book is added to your library.

  • 3.3 View/edit Details:

Just press the “view detail” button if you want to see the details of any book, and press “edit detail” button to edit the details of any book.

  • 3.4 Issue/Return book:

Pressing this button will present you a dialog on which you will publish this book to a user just set the return date, select any user from the list and click “issue”. The book is issued to the specified user.
To return a previously published book click on the book you want to return and click this button and program tells you that the book is successfully returned.

  • 3.5 Delete book:

This feature is rarely used but added as it is necessary. Beware of clicking on this button as this will delete the selected book from library.

  • 3.6 View all books:

This button is only used if you have searched for some book and now you want to restore the original list.

  • 3.7 View Issued/Non-issued books:

Pressing the View issued or non-issued books button will show the appropriate books as described by the button name. Use “view all books” button to restore the display.

  • 4. The manage Users screen:

This screen shows all the controls related to users. On this screen you see a list view control; on startup this control lists all the users. This control will change its contents according to your needs i.e. when you search for a user or press a button.

  • 4.1 Searching a User:

  • 4.5 View all Users:

  • 4.6 Show Issued books to User:

This is a very important feature, on clicking this button you will be taken to a new screen which is showing all the currently issued books to user with the book title, Issue date and return date.

    the number of strings in the title is very limited so that it limiting us to enter full name on my text books and reports what can i do

    It would be great if you could add an import feature so that book lists stores in MS Excel can be imported rather than the book names entered one-by-one manually. Thanks

    Verry nice library managment.
    I have a queston, maybe it is an error: The return date, I get always e.g. 21.1.201 and not 21.1.2013…
